Thane wrote the adaptation of David Guterson’s best-selling novel EAST OF THE MOUNTAINS, starring Tom Skerritt and Mira Sorvino. Simon Abrams at RogerEbert.com said of it, “Tom Skerritt's low-key warmth gives director S.J. Chiro and screenwriter Thane Swigart a charming, nuanced performance that's worthy of their considerate and moving adaptation.”

 

Swigart created and wrote the pilot for the series THE MYSTIC, currently set up at Reality Distortion Field with Executive Producer Simon Barry (WARRIOR NUN, CONTINUUM). He created and wrote the pilot for series RED BORN for producer Jonathan Krauss and his feature projects include the supernatural thriller FURIOUS ANGEL with De Laurentiis Pictures, and political thriller NEVER AGAIN, an adaptation of award-winning journalist/author Lawrence Weschler’s NYT series, produced by Double Nickel Entertainment’s Jenette Kahn and Adam Richman (GRAN TORINO).

 

Swigart holds a degree in Anthropology from UCLA and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
